Mysterious VHS of the first kaiji pachislot just arrived (the one before the anime came out)

It hasn't been tested so I dunno if it works but it was 300 yen so I took a gamble (canned laughter). I'm gonna try get it digitized so I can upload it ^__^ wish me luck lol

One of the things I find kinda funny about part 3 Kaiji is like...it doesn't feel as though Muraoka is the primary antagonist. He feels more like a setup for Kazuya.

We barely get an introduction to him, and at almost no point do we see him behaving like a proper threat to Kaiji. From the start, Kaiji has an advantage: he knows about Maeda, and Miyoshi is helping him which Muraoka doesn't know. Now, yes, Kaiji does start losing: and it's the big matches that he's losing, but even so it never feels like it's because Muraoka is a formidable opponent, it's more that Kaiji made a mistake. Muraoka is just kind of a guy. The only threat he represents is "Kaiji loses a bunch of money he doesn't have" which is big for Kaiji, but doesn't really offer much for an 'arc villain'.

The only person who has a threatening energy is Kazuya: who, throughout the entire arc so far, Kaiji keeps trying to figure out who this person is and how he knows who Kaiji is, and whether or not he's going to blow his cover and screw him over. Kazuya's the actual opponent here.

It's not really the match itself that has weight, but rather the guy watching (and enabling) as things play out.

Ichijou Seiya Stuff

ouguhhhhhhhhhh i love this toxic twink.... he is so terrible... and poor murakami putting up with him is both hilarious and awful. Kaiji was already a big thing that I loved but when I discovered there was a spinoff for Ichijou (who I thought was a great villain in part 2 but I wasnt such a huge fan of beyond that) where it was just him and Murakami managing in Tokyo the idea was hilarious. I ended up buying all the volumes in Japanese and actually preordering some of them as I had to wait. It was amazing. And now the manga has been fully translated, so go read it if you like FKMT stuff... no point missing it...

I also wrote a fanfic for them which was largely informed by the spinoff as well as great fanart I had seen on pixiv.

I'm happy to introduce you a 'kaiji dnd au' (draft name)!

Why so? Because I was bored and decided to doodle Kaiji nd Tonegawa playing dnd, tada!

And it seemed like smth worth looking into and explore more deeply (what I am doing now)

It's just a concept but it is already enough to make me wanna do smth nice based on this idea! It's fun!

Tonegawa was Kaiji's school teacher (ye,,,, it also contains some of the 'teacher au' parts if you please) and y'know their relationships wasn't good, better saying that they pissed each other off, but also they valued strong points in each other personalities such as wit, persistence, pride and so on. And there were rumors spreading among students that Mr. Tonegawa was a ruthless masochist and an illegal gambler outside of school. Kaiji being a gambler himself was interested in finding out the truth.

Kaiji, newly interested in Dungeons & Dragons, decided to entice Tonegawa into it. Initially, it was a no-go, but as Kaiji increased the stakes, Tonegawa became hooked before he realized it. It was a tough challenge, and Yukio, unwilling to lose, dedicated himself to mastering every aspect of the game.

When game day arrived, Kaiji and his D&D group met Tonegawa. However, they were unprepared for the obstacles Tonegawa, as Dungeon Master, had stored for them. His goal was to make it impossible for them to win and, more importantly, to plunge Kaiji into abysmal despair.
